Last week when there was a break in the winter weather, I was able to get out and about to view how some of our building designs in Mandurah are progressing during the construction stage.

I visited around 6 different projects; 3 of which I will focus on in this blog entry. Two were new residential designs and one was a renovation design.

The first that I will focus on is a 4-storey custom house design in Madora Bay which we have been following on our Facebook page and website. The roof is now on and some of the windows are in. Designed on the premises of an old deli, Francis realised that the site was commercial zoned. This means that the design had the potential for a 4-storey development, which our client took full advantage of. The combined height as well as being a stone-throw from the beach means that the views that have resulted in every direction are incredible.

The second custom canal home design (built by Mandurah Homes) was just having the finishing touches put on during my visit and has since been completed!

The last is a full house canal renovation design, with the building works again being completed by Mandurah Homes. Unfortunately due to the floors being sanded I wasn’t able to go inside but it is the alfresco area that makes this design truly unique. Incorporating two ponds connected by a spillway, this alfresco area is designed to look as if it will have a miniature river flowing through it that people are forced to walk over to access the alfresco. This was a new concept for Francis that he was yet to incorporate into a house design but he was eager to put the research in and make sure that it was possible for our client. He is always keen to learn and adapt to new designs. We will definitely be getting some completed photos of this project.
